Yet, O Lord, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; We are all the work of your hand." -Isaiah 64:8

History: Prior to 1989, the MW at Holland’s was one large group of women. In 1989, under the leadership of Nancy Burnette, a group of 10 women ventured out to create the first “circle” of women within the MW. The new circle was named FIRST JOURNEY which described the group and their mission. The young ladies that were part of the initial circle are now mostly grandmothers. Our group age in general is 60 plus.
Focus: First Journey is a caring and supportive group of “sisters in Christ”. Our hope is that the Lord will continue to lead us as we travel on our journey to serve and honor Him in all our mission activities.
Meeting Schedule: Monthly on the 4th Tuesday @7pm in room 103. Although our mission work continues all year, we do not have regularly scheduled meetings during our summer break (June, July and August). We have a summer social in June and a winter social in December.

* Work Groups: Small groups work together to prepare meals for families as
well as others in the community and work in mission activities/events.

Lydia's Sisters meet at 10:30am on the 4th Saturday of each month. We meet at the homes of members or have a social event at a local restaurant. Our circle welcomes all age groups and currently have members from 23 - 70+. We are single, married, no children, some children, empty nesters, grandchildren - all seeking to expand our love of Jesus through service in the church, community and the world. We focus on the UMW's mission of supporting women, youth and children.
We work hand in hand with our local MW, and have proudly been a Seven Star Circle for many years. This includes donations to MW Pledge, Gift in Memory, Gift to Mission, Special Pin Recognition, Penny & Prayer, World Thank Offering and Candle Burning. All of these monies go directly to support UMW's missions locally, nationally and internationally.
Our circle supports the Craft Sale and has 2 Rummage Sales annually to raise funds to support other areas of giving. The following are groups/missions that we support outside of MW:
-AMG - Advancing ministries of the Gospel (support of a school aged girl)
WINGS (Women Interested in Growing Spiritually)
