Hand in Hand in Partnership with Vance Elementary School
Coordinator: Joanie Smothers
Hand in Hand is an opportunity to share Christ’s love and God’s blessings with the students and staff of Vance Elementary School through prayer, encouragement, and relationship-building. Volunteers can serve by praying for the school, its students and staff, our church, and our commitment to supporting children in our community; by adopting a staff member to pray for and encourage throughout the school year; or by serving as a Reading Buddy for a student who needs extra support, requiring only about 30 minutes each week. Through these simple but meaningful acts of service, we can help children, teachers, and staff know they are valued, supported, and loved.

Kairos Prison Ministry is a Christian ministry that shares God’s love, grace, and forgiveness with incarcerated men and women, as well as their families. Opportunities to serve include ministering directly to participants during retreat weekends, praying for the ministry, providing financial support, or serving behind the scenes. Volunteers can make a meaningful impact through acts of encouragement such as baking cookies, writing letters, and preparing meals. There is a place for you to make an eternal impact!

They offer a variety of volunteer opportunities to match different gifts, schedules, and interests. Volunteers can work directly with participants during weekday programs, assist with community outings as van drivers, support special events and fundraisers, teach hobbies or life skills as instructors, help tell the ministry's story through photography, videography, and writing, or provide administrative support in the office. Be the hands and feet of Jesus, and change lives!

Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC
Coordinator: Joan Banker
Volunteers serve at the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina on the second Thursday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Food Bank warehouse just north of downtown Raleigh. Service opportunities vary based on current needs but often include assembling food boxes, sorting and repackaging produce and groceries, packaging bulk food items, and labeling containers for distribution. This hands-on ministry provides a meaningful way to help fight hunger in our community while serving alongside fellow volunteers. New volunteers are always welcome, and no special experience is required.
Ends of the Earth
El Salvador
El Salvador mission support provides an opportunity to meet practical needs while advancing the Gospel. Through this short-term mission opportunity, volunteers convey the transforming message of the Gospel and help provide essential medications, nutritious food, and construction materials that support local communities and ministry projects. Together, these efforts meet physical needs, strengthen relationships, and create opportunities for lives to be changed.
"The service you perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people but also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God" 2 Corinthians 9:12.
"Pray for one another...the prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective" James 5:16.
